The Historic Orchard at Altapass

Day 169 of 365

I am so glad I discovered this gem along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Originally, the apple orchard was planted by the Clinchfield Railroad, whose tracks curved through the region.   Today the orchard continues to produce apples and is the site of an Appalachian Cultural Center.  For more information, visit their website
