Book Suggestion: Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand

Day 96 of 365

I celebrated surviving last week’s dissertation defense by reading a book.  Yes, I realize that reading is an embarrassingly  tame way to celebrate, but it’s been so long since I read for entertainment that I really did feel as though I were doing something extravagant

Having heard from several people that Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand was a must-read, I was anxious to see if it would live up to the hype — and it certainly did.  I will not attempt a to give you a full book review (You can find an excellent review here.), but I happily recommend this charming story of the all-so-proper Major Pettigrew and his second chance with love.
